Process, Lead Times, Artwork Delivery, Aspirations

Hi Alexis and Romuald,

Thank you for taking the time to look through this. I thought it would be helpful to bring together a broader selection of work, alongside some process insights on how I typically approach commissions. I've also included some of the thinking and production behind the finished pieces. I hope you enjoy looking through it!

Process

The foundational cornerstone of my work alternates between analogue and digital processes, holding space where a hand drawn sketch becomes a digital composition, which is then accented by hand drawn textures and digitally developed before undergoing printed treatment (although not necessitated). The refinement of my practice as a digital artist in conjunction with my analogue approach as a draftsperson and printmaker has had effect on how I craft imagery. Consideration for both traditional and innovative contemporary print technologies (2-Dimensional/3-Dimensional) alongside emerging mediums like sculpture perpetually influence how and why I’m producing work. The oscillation of how an image begins and where it ends through the undertaking of different processes fascinates me. I like to view the movement of an image into material surface as a translation, one that elicits the tacit quality of its subject matter. In practical terms, the foundational approach of how I make work to brief remains the same and can be completed and sent anywhere. Additional processes such as printmaking may be requested. Throughout a commission I share concept sketches and work-in-progress updates at agreed stages, allowing time for feedback before final artwork is prepared and delivered. You may find links below to view example projects displaying the processes and workflows involved in creating my work.
